Junior Lab - Traffic Light Controller
These are some images for Clarkson University junior lab, project 1 from spring 2005.
For this lab we had to design and build a traffic light controller using only discrete digital chips.
The traffic light scenario is an intersection between a heavily traveled highway and a country road with pedestrian crossways. The highway has a higher priority over the country road, and a pedestrian has the highest priority.
The design used a state machine to determine which road was allowed to go based on the inputs to the system from buttons representing cars on the country road and a pedestrian waiting to cross.
I enjoyed this lab; it's really crazy to see the aftermath of three breadboards and two weeks of work.
